 Free Trees & ShrubsTree Fredericksburg will be giving away 3,000 potted native tree and shrub seedlings on Saturday, April 5.  Reservations for the trees will start today, 2/14/2025, on our website, www.TreeFredericksburg.org. The plants must be picked up in person by you or your designee on Saturday, April 5th, at Old Mill Park, 2201 Caroline Street, 22401 between 8:00 am and Noon.  Each family may reserve a maximum of six trees or shrubs. The event is open to all residents of Virginia. Tree Stewards will be on hand to teach proper tree planting and answer tree related questions. Any plants not picked up by noon will be forfeited and will be distributed by lottery at that time. Here is a list of the trees and shrubs that are available (more information on these plants are available on our website): American Plum. Bald Cypress, Black Cherry, White Dogwood, Shumard Oak, Eastern Red Cedar, Persimmon, Red Maple, Redbud, River Birch, Sweet Bay Magnolia, Winterberry, Elderberry, Buttonbush
